The Four Days Marches Festival showcases what makes the Arnhem-Nijmegen region so strong: connection, entrepreneurship and collaboration. That is why Lifeport Regio Arnhem Nijmegen is a proud partner of this event. The Four Days Marches Festival brings together hundreds of thousands of people every year, offering a unique platform to showcase the strength of our region. For Lifeport, this is the perfect opportunity to showcase innovation and inspire new talent in the fields of energy, healthcare and technology. After all, talent, entrepreneurship and innovative strength are indispensable for the solutions of tomorrow.
The Arnhem-Nijmegen region is one of the most innovative regions in the Netherlands. Through collaboration between the education sector, businesses and public authorities, the region is developing solutions to societal challenges whilst strengthening its economic position. Through innovations in Energy, Health and High Tech, Lifeport is contributing to the future of the Netherlands and Europe.
Lifeport’s strength lies in a unique ecosystem where knowledge, talent, entrepreneurship and public ambitions converge. Universities, universities of applied sciences, vocational colleges, start-ups, scale-ups, businesses and public authorities are working together on the energy transition, future-proof healthcare and technological breakthroughs.
A frontrunner in Energy, Health and High Tech
Lifeport is recognised nationally and internationally as the Netherlands’ leading energy region. Here, work is being carried out on smart energy systems, sustainable energy generation, storage and solutions for grid congestion. At the same time, healthcare institutions, researchers and entrepreneurs are developing innovations that keep healthcare accessible and future-proof.
Lifeport also occupies a unique position in the field of High Tech, and in particular in the semiconductor sector. With one of the largest semiconductor production sites in the Netherlands – and as the only region in the country where chips are actually manufactured – the region plays a key role in the Dutch semiconductor sector. Investments in chips, photonics and precision technology ensure that the Netherlands and Europe become less dependent on technology from other parts of the world. At the same time, they strengthen the region’s innovative capacity, stimulate economic growth and contribute to solutions for societal challenges.
“The major societal challenges of our time call for collaboration across sectors and organisational boundaries. In the Lifeport Arnhem-Nijmegen Region, we bring together talent, technology and entrepreneurship to realise sustainable solutions that create both economic and societal value.”
– Jan van Dellen, director of The Economic Board Arnhem-Nijmegen Region.

Lifeport at the Four Days Marches Festival
This year marks Lifeport’s second time as a partner of the Vierdaagsefeesten. During the event, visitors will experience how companies, (cultural) partners, healthcare and educational institutions, and knowledge partners from the region are working together on smart solutions for the future.
At the Kidslab on Mariënburgplein in Nijmegen, children and young people are introduced to technology, sustainability and health in an interactive way. Together with partners such as Radboudumc, Radboud University, HAN University of Applied Sciences, NXP Semiconductors, the Donders Institute, MakerCosmos, Innovate, GreenKarting, Haskoning, Modderkolk and Techoforum, they playfully discover the innovations of tomorrow, whilst experiencing just how fun, challenging and versatile technology can be. On the Kids’ Stage, children are immersed in stories and imagination by partners such as Gelderland Zuid Library and LUX. From building an electric go-kart and experiencing gravity in the Gravity Well to exploring oral health in the Teeth Workshop, visitors are challenged to discover, experiment and experience for themselves how innovation contributes to a healthy, sustainable and smart future.
Because only together can we lead the way.
