Health

How certain are we that we will still have good healthcare in the near future? Demand is rising, while capacity in terms of money and manpower is under pressure. That is why we are working on care innovations in Lifeport. For good care for everyone.

Innovating for tomorrow's care

The demand for care is rising. Can we still meet that demand when money and manpower are scarce? Yes! Through, for example, more use of High Tech and AI, more focus on prevention and more smart care at home. Lifeport is working on the innovation in care needed for this. Such as a smartwatch for parkinson's patients, implantable lenses for eye surgery and an AI analysis tool for lung scans, for example.

When you think of Health, you think of...

When you think of Health and Lifeport, you think about Radboudumc. Right? Logically. But the region has surprisingly much more to offer in healthcare innovation. Think also, for example, of Rijnstate, Canisius Wilhelmina Hospital and Sint Maartenskliniek. With numerous well-known and lesser-known innovative companies that are among the top in their markets. From start-up to large and established. They benefit from an environment where cooperation is the norm.

Briskr - roadmap for entrepreneurs

Start-ups and other SMEs in Health often work on interesting innovations. Only, they do not always know the right route to successfully bring them to the market. Briskr shows the way. For example, in finding venture capital, housing or the right business model. Through Briskr, entrepreneurs can also attend targeted workshops and find valuable contacts.

3 x global leader

Lifeport is working on future-proof care in many areas. We are global leaders in three areas.

  1. Digital health
Applying the latest digital possibilities in healthcare. Radboudumc leads the way internationally in this. AI-assisted diagnostics robotics in the OR and health apps to put control in the hands of the patient, - in Lifeport we develop it.
  2. Drug development
A new gamechanger in the fight against infectious diseases? It could just be developed in Lifeport. A nice mix of large companies and start-ups in Lifeport plays in the champions league of drug development.
  3. Neurotech
How do we make the brain work better? Globally renowned institutes from Lifeport - like the Donders Institute and the Max Planck Institute - conduct research and innovate. Together with an ecosystem that can take the innovations to the (international) market.

Together with the neighbours

For Health, Lifeport has two interesting neighbours. To the west, we are linked to Foodvalley, with Wageningen University as a central player. Together, we innovate at the interface of food and Health. For example, in the OnePlanet initiative. In the south, we cooperate with the Oss/Den Bosch pharmaceutical cluster. This cluster has several (large) companies that can bring medicine innovations to the market.

Healthy living in Lifeport

We want to be a region where residents age healthily, with good care. We therefore let innovations from Lifeport land here as much as possible. And contribute to broad prosperity. Good care also means more and more care close by. That is why the triple helix around health works closely with neighbourhood organisations and housing corporations. Among others in the Healthy Living programme, in which we look more at care in the neighbourhood.
