On 27 May 2024, the Nijmegen Business Angel Network (BANN) event took place. The BANN event focuses on in-person meetings where investors and start-ups can meet in an informal setting, share knowledge and expand their networks. This event took place at Slot Doddendael in Ewijk. At the latest gathering, four promising start-ups were once again present to share their stories.
The BANN event focuses, on the one hand, on matchmaking between start-ups and investors and, on the other, on improving the start-ups’ pitching skills. The start-ups are given the opportunity to tell their story and learn what investors look for, enabling them to refine their presentations and convey their message more effectively.
Investors and networks
The event originally focused mainly on the health and high-tech sectors, but this time Artificial Intelligence takes centre stage. This is relevant given the rapid developments in AI. Sven Bakkes from LUMO Labs informed attendees about the opportunities, do's and don'ts of investing in AI propositions, while four promising AI start-ups presented their innovative ideas. These start-ups deal with technologies that have potential to make a major contribution to various industries. This provides a unique opportunity for both start-ups and investors to explore the latest trends and developments around AI. The platform offers them a way to share innovations.
