No connection due to tight network?
For example: you run a transport company and want to transition to a fully electric fleet in the long term. This requires a significant expansion of your business’s electricity network.
But we regularly read in the newspapers that our electricity grid cannot cope with the high demand for and supply of electricity. There is acute grid congestion: the pressure on the electricity grid is so great that it is literally straining at the seams. As a result, solar farms or wind turbines can no longer be connected, or large consumers are unable to secure a connection.
Independent energy experts
You can, of course, contact the network operator Liander yourself. Alternatively, you could discuss with your neighbours the possibility of tackling your energy needs collectively, within an energy hub. Perhaps there are other creative solutions you could come up with to still expand your business whilst making it more sustainable.If you’re still unable to find a solution, you can seek advice from the independent energy experts at the REE.

Here’s another practical example from Claessen: many organisations have had an energy audit carried out at some point. As a business owner, an energy audit gives you greater insight into your energy consumption. Such an energy scan also identifies possible measures to reduce business energy costs. It’s all well and good, but a report containing recommendations often ends up in a drawer. After all, the issues of the day tend to take precedence.
