Lifeport is a developing project. In 2019, the idea was presented, in 2021 the vision was shaped after a series of brainstorms and working sessions. In 2022, Lifeport will step out into the open.

Energy
We are in the midst of the energy transition: moving away from the use of fossil fuels towards sustainable alternatives. Lifeport is home to many organisations that are each contributing to this in their own way. They are working together on electric power technology, sustainable propulsion systems and innovations in the field of energy storage.
Health
At Lifeport, we have many organisations specialising in technologies related to healthcare and our health. There is also a great deal happening in the fields of high-tech and food. We have brought these together under the Health, High-Tech, Food group, particularly as Health has significant overlaps with the other areas. Furthermore, various organisations from these sectors work closely together, which is why we mention them in the same breath.

The labour market is constantly changing, so we need to be well prepared for this. At Lifeport, we believe it is important that every talented individual in the region is able to fulfil their potential. That is why we help employees to effectively match supply and demand in the labour market.

With the support of our partners, Lifeport is becoming increasingly visible in more and more places, both nationally and internationally. For example, the concept has already been presented at international trade fairs, such as the European Week of Cities and Regions and the Hannover Messe. A major regional event also took place in the summer of 2022: the Lifeport Festival Circulair.
In addition, other initiatives and projects are already using the Lifeport name. For example, the Lifeport Circular Lab is exploring innovative solutions to sustainability issues. The Lifeport Welcome Centre is also set to open in September, where expats and international students can find relevant information about living and working in the region.
