The ambition is high: in a joint effort, all stakeholders in the Lifeport region are working to build a thriving and relevant energy cluster for the energy transition. A European hotspot for the development of energy innovations.
With this ambition, the municipality of Arnhem put out an assignment to internationally renowned certification and consultancy organisation DNV. The question was: what are the top 10 energy innovations for offices and businesses already being developed in our region?
To publicise the results and get to work on them, the municipality of Arnhem organised a meeting. There, the top 10 interesting innovations from our region were celebrated and application possibilities were explored. Most of the selected entrepreneurs were able to attend in person and spoke to all the gathered stakeholders in roundtable discussions.
The selection
In its study, DNV ultimately selected not 10, but 13 top innovations. Together, they showcase a fine range of technologies developed in our region.

A professional radiator fan, offering great comfort with less energy
The Grid Control Platform connects partial solutions - such as cable pooling, battery storage and closed distribution systems - into an integrated network that takes care of everything.
- HCS 100 Hydrogen compression | Hyet Hydrogen
Electrochemical hydrogen compressors that can bring hydrogen to the desired pressure, for example for energy storage or use in a hydrogen filling station.
- High energy density batteries | Exergy storage
A new battery technology to help homeowners and communities get the most out of their renewable generation.
- Patform for sustainable energy exchange | All-in power
All in power enables local generators of sustainable energy to supply this energy directly to their target group at the lowest possible cost. Through the platform, every kWh and euro is clear for every member and every kWh and euro belongs to and for whom.
- Powerbox | Powercrumbs
The Powerbox is a container with residual biogas, which is delivered to each location, where it is coupled to the available generator.
- PVT/v | Solar Energy Booster
The Booster is an installation concept for use on PV panels where thermal energy from the Boosters is used as an energy source for a heat pump.

Solab Cool is a compact adsorption cooler that converts sustainable waste heat into cold water for cooling purposes.
- Solar Foil | Hyet Solar
Flexible high-efficiency solar modules.
- Soluxa Colored Solar Panels | Soluxa
Coloured solar panels for facades.
- Volstora superstorage | Volstora
Long-life battery system in containers based on titanium
- Hydrogen bromide flow battery | Elestor
Redox flow batteries (RFB) for storing sustainably generated energy.
- Hydrogen electrolyser | MTSA Technopower
Electrolyser systems for the production of green hydrogen in the capacity range 0.5-10 MW.
